How to Make Your Own Cutting Garden
This session is for flower lovers who want to have their own abundant flower garden but don't know how to get started. Learn how to have beautiful flowers all season long in your home gardens.
Put on your garden hat and learn about cut flower gardens from concept to cutting. Walk through our professional rows of cutting gardens while learning about many different flowers, their needs during growth, the ways of harvesting, stem conditioning and utilizing flowers in different types of arrangements.
Inside our newly built flower studio, Liz will discuss types of flowers appropriate for cutting gardens, how to plan for successive cuttings, soil amendments, irrigation, pruning, tools of the trade and everything you need to know for a beautiful cutting garden of your own. At the end of the day, we’ll all make a hand-tied floral bouquet to take home.
If you want to grow cut flowers professionally, this is not the class you want. Instead, please go to the Beginner Flower Farmer Workshop.
Lovely snacks and refreshments will be supplied throughout the workshop.
Please bring your own flower clippers (or borrow a pair from us).
