Flowers and Food Go Together!
For flower lovers of all levels, we welcome you to our small cut flower farm for an intimate garden flower arrangement workshop. Some people come more than once a year to experience the changing flower varieties and beauty on our farm throughout the season.
We will begin the class with an informative tour of the gardens where we grow sustainable cut flowers for the wholesale market. We'll talk about best practices for harvesting and handling in-season flowers, with a focus on how to condition them to maintain their beauty while in the vase.
Inside our newly built flower studio, Liz will present how to make a vase floral arrangement. She will discuss and demonstrate conditioning stems, the various floral styles, in-vase support systems, wild forage use, texture and color choices to help broaden your creative flow as you design your arrangements. With Liz’s guidance, students will make their own bodacious arrangement in a beautiful vase to take home.
Flowers to be used in student arrangements will have already been picked and conditioned ahead of time. They will be waiting in overflowing buckets for arrangement assembly.
Please bring your own flower clippers (or borrow a pair from us).
Lovely savory snacks and refreshments will be supplied throughout the workshop.
